Places To Visit In Pattaya

Pattaya is one of the most famous beach destinations in Thailand. It has grown dramatically over the last 25 years from a small quiet fishing village to a bustling metropolis. In fact few beach resorts in Asia can match the variety of attractions that are found in this beautiful city by the bay.

A little over two hours from Bangkok via air-conditioned buses, Pattaya has excellent affordable golf courses, beautiful natural beaches that offer an array of water sports, and a variety of places and attractions to visit. Also on hand is a vibrant and colorful nightlife that is meant for the young at heart. Pattaya is the ideal destination for those who are seeking non-stop entertainment.

A popular weekend destination for people wanting to escape the city, Pattaya has plenty of accommodation in just about every price category. The main attraction is the beaches, but there are also plenty of places to go to and savor the taste of Thailand’s diversity.

Places to See

The Million Years Stone Park and Pattaya Crocodile Farm
The Million Years Stone Park and Pattaya Crocodile Farm is situated 9 kms from the city’s center. In these marvelously landscaped grounds there are; rock gardens, plant fossils which are over a million years old, 200 year old Thai bonsai trees, and a collection of rare albino bears, elephants and horses. This park also has breeding pens with more than 1,000 crocodiles. There are animal performances and crocodile displays every day. Elephant Village

The Pattaya Elephant Village stages live exhibitions and displays by working elephants, who entertain throngs of people everyday. The shows show off the elephants’ forestry and football skills, and also have a re-enactment of an elephant war parade. Situated on Pornprapanimitr Road, the Elephant Village also arranges for a small jungle trek on an elephant’s back. A half hour trek is about 500B ($12) per adult and 200B ($4.55) per child. The village also demonstrates how wild elephants were captured in the north eastern part of Thailand.

Siriporn Orchid Farm

This beautiful orchid farm is a must see for orchid lovers who will fall in love with the wide range of orchids such as catteleyas, vandas, daedrovium, escosanda and pompadours on display. Visitors can also buy cut orchid flowers and plants.

Sriracha Tiger Zoo

This zoo contains more than 200 Bengal tigers and 100,000 crocodiles. It has many activities and shows for visitors including crocodile wrestling and elephants playing basketball. Camels, deer, wallabies, Peruvian guinea pigs and ostriches are also on display at the zoo as well.

The Bottle Art Museum

This museum has an extensive collection of more than 300 glass bottles containing miniature churches, temples, palaces, and ships. Created by Dutch sculptor Peter Bedelais, these hand crafted miniature displays are an extraordinary sight to see.

Mini Siam

Mini Siam is a miniature city with more than 100 models and replicas of sacred places and important historical sites from around Thailand. It is a great way to see all that Thailand has to offer but on a miniature scale. The Temple of the Emerald Buddha, the Bridge over the River Kwai, the Golden Stupa and Pimai Khmer Sanctuary are just some of the many important Thai landmarks that have been recreated. Also on display are mini models of various culture and civilizations from the ancient time till present, like the Eiffel Tower, the Statue of Liberty, London's Tower Bridge, and the Trevi Fountain.
Mini Siam is open daily from 7a.m. - 10 p.m.

Phanarak Park

Phanarak Park is a privately-owned resort, with beautiful natural gardens, big fish ponds and fishing gear available for rent. Visitors can stay overnight here, with bungalow accommodations on hand, plus a restaurant, jogging and cycling paths, boating and water-cycling facilities and a swimming pool. This park is situated on Pornprapanimitr Road.

Suan Nong Nooch

Suan Nong Nooch is a Thai-styled village and recreational park. Situated about 15 kms from South Pattaya, this entire area is beautifully landscaped, with an orchid nursery and a huge botanical garden. There are daily cultural and traditional performances from some 100 dancers, musicians, and performers, and there is also an elephant show. Thai boxing and funny photo ops make this a real touristy destination. It is an ideal place to take the whole family for a unique perspective on Thai village life.

Pattaya Water Park

Pattaya Water Park is situated on Thappraya Road, at the top of Jomtien Beach. With water sliders, whirlpools and large pools for children and adults, this park is an amusement park as well, and is the perfect place to spend a day with the family.

Ripley's Believe it or not Museum

Fro something totally different visit the Ripley’s Believe It Or Not museum to view over 250 fascinating and weird objects. On display from around the world are African Voodoo dolls and lots of other strange objects. It is highly recommended for kids of all ages.

Ripley's Motion Master Panorama Theatre

A high tech experience, this theatre features a giant screen projection, moving seats and full digital surround sound to take you right into the action of a specially produced movie.

Ripley's Laser Trek

A high tech laser competition, here kids and adults get to test their skills in virtual combat with laser guns.

Wat Khao Prayai

Wat Khao Prayai is a small temple situated high above Pattaya to the south. The temple has an amazing view and a 10m high gold statue of Buddha.
